The Applied Spatial Ecology and Technical Services (ASETS) research group is housed within the Department of Entomology at Michigan State University. 

Featuring a strong project portfolio focusing on the development and application of spatial technologies targeting the surveillance, ecology and management of invasive species at state, regional and national scales.

Who we are

Meet the staff of the Applied Spatial Ecology and Technical Services group. Established in 2008 and housed in the Department of Entomology at Michigan State University.

ASETS is lead by Amos Ziegler who supervises Steve Crisp, Travis Perkins, Claire Peterson and Oscar Castaneda. We have over 100 years of combined experience in the field of GIS.
